Boat2Trailer Trouble Shooting Ramp N Clamp
Does Not Release When Handle Is Pulled
***DO NOT PULL HARDER ON THE RELEASE HANDLE. THIS WILL NOT FORCE THE CLAMP TO RELEASE.
If the eye of the boat is tight against the clamp, the clamp will not release. You MUST float the boat to release the boat. If you wish to manually release the clamp at anytime, we recommend the short handle model option. This has a manual handle you can keep open or close.
Clamp Will not latch the eye or "I miss the latch" or "it's not lining up."
If your boat is missing left, right, running over the top or you have to race the motor to get it to clamp, this is typically a trailer depth issue. These problems are common when the trailer is too deep. Pull the trailer out of the water further and allow your rollers or bunks to center and raise your boat into the clamp. Please watch video for a better understanding. Trailer depth FULL IN DEPTH EXPLANATION CLICK HERE
I Do Not Have Enough Room In My Eye To Attach My Strap
Please Note: THIS IS VERY RARE The eye typically has enough room.
If your eye on your boat is too small or your strap hook is too big, we recommend our strap hook adapter. The adapter hooks on to the eye of your boat then attaches to the strap hook. Please call for purchase info.
Test The Clamp
Test the clamp by placing the mounting bracket on the palm of your hand. With 2 fingers pull the clamp in until you hear the clamp snap shut. To test the release simply pull the release handle and the clamp should release the clamp and open. Make sure the handle is not to tight. This will prevent the handle from working properly.

- Roller Trailer: You can push the boat back on the trailer to access the roller. (Leave safety chain on)
- Bunk Trailer: You can slide the winch post forward (toward the truck) to access the roller. (Do NOT jack the boat up.)
2. Remove the front bow stop or roller from the trailer.
3. Install roller on front bracket. (some units may have this already installed)
4. Install boat latch on mounting bracket of the winch stand.
- Use either hole to mount the latch.
- Do not tighten yet.
5. Adjust angle to line up with the bow of the boat before tightening.
Tighten bolt “snug” so the latch can pivot. 20 – 24ft lbs recommended. DO not over tighten and do not leave sloppy loose. Crank in or slowly drive into the latch to lock.
6. Short handle Model interchangeable Options. (Both are included with purchase of short handle model)
When the boat is on the trailer at a rest, there should not be a gap between the poly and the bow of the boat. A gap means the clamp is set too low. Raise the winch stand to solve the issue.
