Bayliner Automatic Boat Latch
Bayliner automatic boat latch. The Ramp N Clamp Sport Model is designed specifically in regards to the eye of the boat or how it is mounted.
Look closely at your eye on your Bayliner boat. You will notice it is mounted directly to the fiberglass and does not have a thick mounting plate above the eye. On the Bayliner automatic boat latch Sport Model, there is a gap in the polyurethane specifically for this standard U bolt to travel through. It is very important the gap on the polyurethane matches the mount of the eye. Having a tight fit on the eye ensures less wear on your fiberglass boat and your eye. If you have a different setup of your eye, please visit the MODELS page to find the correct model.
Stoltz Polyurethane
The Bayliner automatic boat latch by Ramp N Clamp. The Sport Model clamp has a cover made up of an upgraded Stoltz Polyurethane. This Stoltz Poly is to prevent damage to your fiberglass boat. Stoltz has been known around the world for its superior super roller material. We have upgraded that material to an even stronger, more resistant protector. Here are key notes to consider about Stoltz Poly.
- Abrasion resistance
- Non-staining, known for it’s highest standard of less marking
- Won’t split or crack, even in extreme cold
- Longer, consistent performance
- Will not flat spot after months of storage
Stainless Steel
The Bayliner automatic boat latch by Ramp N Clamp. The Ramp N Clamp Sport Model is constructed of stainless steel to prevent corrosion and help prevent rusting of the clamp that you install on your Bayliner trailer.
- One of the best and most well-known characteristics of stainless steel, is that it is extremely corrosion resistant. Stainless steel is know for its durability in salt climates and salt water conditions.
- Stainless steel holds up INCREDIBLY well in most all climate conditions.
- It is an extremely tough and highly durable material with high impact resistance.
- You will NOT be disappointed in the long lasting durability of the clamp.
Low Profile Design
The Ramp N Clamp was designed and engineered to have a low profile mounting bracket. It is important to keep your Bayliner boat in the same position on the trailer after installing the clamp. Having a low profile mounting bracket puts the clamp in a very similar position the roller was. Our clamp does NOT need any additional mounting bracket to “reset” the position of the Bayliner boat. The design helps prevent you from having to adjust the winch stand much to compensate any offset. If you have a welded trailer winch stand, this is incredibly important. Ramp N Clamp helps keep your boat in the position it was meant to be on the trailer without any additional brackets.
Bayliner Automatic Boat Latch Handle Options
Long Handle – Very commonly used on roller trailers – Automatically resets after loading and unloading – Made of Aluminum to help prevent corrosion and rust – Easy to reach from inside the boat for launching – Easy to add a rope to launch from inside the boat – MUST float the boat then pull handle to release the boat. (short handle has an option to manually release at any time) – LONG HANDLE MODEL CAN NOT BE CONVERTED TO SHORT HANDLE MODEL
AUTOMATIC Short Handle
Very commonly used on bunk trailers – Automatically resets after loading and unloading – Made of Stainless Steel to help prevent corrosion and rust – Low profile for less bulk – Very little force to open – MUST float the boat then pull handle to release the boat. (Manual short handle can manually release at anytime) – SHORT HANDLE MODEL CAN NOT BE CONVERTED TO LONG HANDLE MODEL
MANUAL Short Handle
Very commonly used on bunk trailers – Manually reset after loading and unloading – Made of Stainless Steel to help prevent corrosion and rust – Low profile for less bulk – Very little force to open – Can place handle in the up or “release position” to keep the clamp open for launching. You do not have to float the boat to release. If you prefer to unhook your strap and chain and release the clamp at the same time, you can with this option. You must manually place the handle in the down or “locking” position before loading the boat – SHORT HANDLE MODEL CAN NOT BE CONVERTED TO LONG HANDLE MODEL
Bayliner Automatic Boat Latch – Prevent wear and tear on your eye
Bayliner automatic boat latch. The Boat2Trailer Latch by Ramp N Clamp is engineered to prevent steel on steel wear and tear of the bow eye of your fiberglass boat. The clamp is designed to travel freely beyond the polyurethane to eliminate direct steel on steel pressure on your eye. When you tighten the strap on your trailer, the eye will snug up against the Stoltz Polyurethane not the stainless steel clamp. This is extremely important when traveling. It prevents any future issues you may have of steel on steel wear on your eye.
Bayliner Automatic Boat Latch – Prevent steel on steel wear and tear – Smooth rotation
The Ramp N Clamp Sport Model is engineered to prevent steel on steel wear and tear of your winch stand mounting bracket and the clamp. We added a nylon washer to the mounting bracket of the Sport Model clamp to prevent wear and tear and also give a smooth rotation when the clamp has to pivot. Many landings have different angles and pitches. On steeper landings the clamp has to pivot more when the boat comes into it. This pivoting can cause major scratches and damage to the steel on both the clamp and winch post. Having this nylon washer helps prevent that damage.
