Drotto Bunk Trailer Install
Video of the Drotto Bunk Trailer Install .
Step 1
Locate the bow roller on your trailer. Here are only a few examples of bow roller setups below.
There are a number of different trailers. BUNK trailers and ROLLER trailers. The Drotto boat latch works on both styles of trailers. There are also a number of different bow rollers. The Drotto boat latch is designed to fit on the 3″, 3 3/4″ – 4″. refer to the “Drotto Boat Latch Sizes page” to learn how to measure your bow roller.

Step 2
Release the boat into the water. It is hard to move a boat on a bunk trailer, therefore we suggest simply launching the boat into the water.

Step 3
Remove the single bolt holding the front roller on the trailer and remove the roller. Once roller is removed, replace it with the latch. Tighten the bolt snug, but not fully tight yet. Keep slightly loose so the latch can move just a little.

Step 4
Drive the boat very slowly back up onto the trailer or crank the boat back onto the trailer with your winch. You will then hear the click. Once you hear the click you know the latch has secured and locked the boat to the trailer.

Step 5
Simply snug up the bolt that secures the latch. You DO NOT want it extremely tight, It should be able to pivot slightly with the boat.

Double Roller Bow Stop Install

Here is a good visual if you have a double roller bow stop. In this version, simply remove the top roller, install the latch in place of the top roller and adjust the winch arm to line up the bow eye with the latching system. Another option is to remove the double bow stop completely and install the latch directly to the winch post.
