Boat2Trailer RT Series Short Handle. This model is designed specifically to work with a boat that has the EXACT thick aluminum eye in the photos. The compatible aluminum eye is extremely common on newer Ranger aluminum boats and newer Tracker boats. The RT Series will come with a custom stainless steel aluminum eye protector. This protector only works on the specific eye we have listed. The protector is designed to PROTECT YOUR ALUMINUM EYE. You DO NOT want steel clamping directly on to an aluminum surface. Without the protector it can cause wear on your eye and damage the integrity of the aluminum over tme. Our protector is patent pending. The protector will come with an aluminum spacer or plug that you will insert into the center of the eye. This plug lines up with our bolt and will create a snug fit for the protector. This reduces the chances of pivoting. There is NO DRILLING NEEDED to install the protector. You will be able to slide the adaptor over your aluminum eye and bolt it on. Did i mention, no drilling is required? Our clamp is designed to lock on to our steel protector and mounts on a 3″ – 4.5″ wide roller bracket. The polyurethane has a wide gap or channel for the protector to pass through. The Boat2Trailer RT Series short handle is commonly used on an aluminum Tracker and aluminum Ranger. It will also work on boats that have the exact aluminum eye in our diagram. The protector is not sold separately for any other use than with the clamp we offer. The protector will not work on our sport model.
