Bow Roller

Bow Roller

Bow rollers are extremely common on boat trailers. They are usually a bell shape or a rubber V. They are typically made of thermal plasticized rubber (TPR) or essentially rubber. Bow rollers are installed on the front bracket of the winch stand of the trailer. The roller enables the boat to secure against the trailer. The problem with bow rollers is they do not last very long, sometimes mark up the boat and they only serve one purpose. The purpose is to give the boat something to rest against. Many boat owners replace the bow roller every year or two. With a price tag anywhere from $12 to $50, that can add up over the years. So other than buying another bow roller every year what is another option?

Bow Roller Replacement

Bow Roller Replacement on Boat2Trailer

Basically the idea is simple. Replace your existing bow roller with the automatic boat latch on Boat2Trailer. Why is it called an automatic boat latch? Look in the photo above. The latch has a set of jaws or a clamp that will automatically snap shut and lock onto the existing bow eye of a boat. If you are interested in knowing more about how it works CLICK HERE. The bow roller replacement is a no-brainer in many ways. It’s durability is unmatched compared to a bow roller. It is composed of an incredibly long lasting UHMW plastic. The plastic shield helps prevent wear and tear on your boat and the latch as well. If after 10 years you decide to replace the plastic shield, it is a quick replacement process and only takes a few screws. The latch is not a one size fits all, but pretty darn close. It only comes in 2 sizes. Essentially one replaces a smaller roller and one replaces a bigger roller. Here is a link to our page showing what and where to measure to know what size you would need to replace your bow roller Click Here. The automatic boat latch has so many benefits over a common roller it is hard to describe them all in one page. Delivery was timely, but I did not install the device on my trailer yet as my mobility is limited recovering from knee surgery. I will revise my post in few weeks.

I fish a lot by myself and this piece of equipment is a must. Upon loading my boat onto the trailer it's pull up until it clicks. No more running up to hook the wench on before the boat slips back. Even easier when there's 2 people. Back down trailer, pull boat on, "click", pull up ramp and get out of the way. Finish hookup clear of the ramp. Must have!

Once I figured out that I needed to back the trailer in a little further during the loading process the Drotto has worked as advertised. I was able to install it at home using a small jack to raise my Lund enough to remove the existing roller. It has definitely speeded up the loading process.

I replaced my BoatBuddy that I have used for many years with this one and it blows BB out of the water by how easy it works and performs. I love that you don't have to set anything. It's all automatic and a lot safer as you don't unlatch it till you're ready to back off the trailer.

This is one of the best investments you can make on your trailer Simple installation and makes it very easy to launch and load by yourself or with a driver. I use it on my 23ft Keywest. And it save me a lot of time at the ramp.

I have a new SeaPro 208 boat and the Drotto Boat Latch fit perfectly! I had boat carpet added onto the white pads for extra protection. This is an outstanding product; it makes loading and unloading the boat much easier at coastal boat ramps. I was so impressed with this product that I bought one for my crappie boat for fresh water fishing. Great products! Very well pleased!

I think it is really great as I fish a lot by myself and this makes launching and loading a breeze. My only disappointment is that after I bought mine the priced dropped 20 dollars and the offered free gifts. I guess I should have waited!! Oh well.
