Installed a drotto latch with roller for a Triton bass boat and love it! Highly recommended!!! Works perfectly for solo launch and recovery. You can also release the latch on dry land and launch normally with someone backing you in. Furthermore. The latch automatically adjusts so there is no problem on flat or steep ramps. Just wish I bought one sooner.

This is the best money I've spent on my boat. This makes loading so easy, especially when you fish alone. 2 of my friends have purchased one after see how it works.

Great product & wish I had years earlier. Makes launching & getting off lake so much faster & easier. Excellent install instructions. Buddy has a BassCat boat, will Stratos unit work with his boat?

Most unfortunately that the Drotto Boat Latch would not work on my 2021 Thunder Jet 185. The latch hook on my Boat is welded on and the Welding Design is not the typical hook. I can tell you that Darren the Owner work with me on the return and I was very pleased with his professionalism. So, so far as that is concerned he is a man of his word and that’s the reason for this review.

Literally the best accessory you can add to your boat makes unloading and loading a breeze i have one on each boat an older Procraft and now a 2015 Skeeter the Skeeter was a pain to load before adding the drotto do yourself a favor and get one

This device makes it easy to dock my boat on the trailer and I don’t have to get out and walk through knee deep water to latch the boat to the trailer winch. I just drive the boat onto the trailer and carefully power up the trailer until I feel/hear the latch click, then I get out of the boat and drive the trailer up the ramp, stop then on dry land I attach the winch snap and winch the boat tight for the drive home. My boat is 20 ft long and 5000 pounds and I can launch and load it by myself.

I have a saying, "nothing good happens at the put-in". Face it, at best it is a neutral event. I mostly launch/trailer alone, and now can do it with ease. I've had many witness me use the Drotto verbally respond from across the launch area; some even come to look at it. I recommend the Drotto to everyone. Follow the instructions. Call them if you need to. They are very kind and very good at what they do!

“I have a new boat. The quad bunk trailer is awesome, but I need to set it deep in the water as I fish alone a lot. To crank a boat this heavy on quad bunks can be hard. I saw this video on face book. Checked out the web site. For a little over $200 I ordered one. I had it in hand thirty six hours later. A ten minute install was all it took. My first use was on Wolf river(heavy moving water) in Wisconsin during the Walleye and White bass run. People and boats everywhere. It is a zoo. but the fishing is amazing. The unload was with two guys went as usual. The loading was the big payoff. I put trailer in deeper. My brother(Ranger owner) idling in heavy current drove boat on and with a snap shut of the jaws the boat was on and secure. This got a lot of heads to turn. I never have to get in water or crank up this boat again. I was ready to buy an electric winch. The videos say it all. It absolutely works that good. Every boat over sixteen feet should come from the showroom with this on. “

“This is easily the best investment for my boat and trailer that I could have made. It is so easy to load and unload that we are using the boat more often. No more getting in the cold water to attach straps. Just glide onto the trailer and let the device snap onto your eye on the front. Pull the boat out slowly and the boat automatically centers itself on the trailer. The AIS inspector last weekend said he wishes everyone would have these on their trailer. We loaded in less than 30 seconds. Others were taking 10 minutes in the rain. “

“So far this product is working great, I have a roller trailer and my boat comes off very easy and when I drive the boat on the trailer I no longer have to keep the motor running and run up to the front of the boat to attach the strap and safety chain. When you drive the boat on the trailer you can hear it latch on. When you put boat in the water you just lift the lever and the boat rolls off. I would recommend this to anyone with a roller trailer it’s great if you fish alone it makes things a lot easier. I would not trust this to be the only thing holding your boat on I still use the strap and safety chain.”

“I used it for the first time today and love it. Sure makes my life easier when I fish alone. I used to crawl over the bow down onto the tongue to unhook the winch and safety chain then crawl back up over the bow. The older I get the harder it is to do plus I am looking at knee replacement within the next year and the Boat2Trailer latch is going to provide me the ability to take my boat out whenever I want.”

June 9, 2017 at 3:00 pmI see that most use your product on a roller trailer. I have a Lund Tyee 1800 on a bunk trailer. Is your product as effective on a bunk as a roller trailer?

June 13, 2017 at 1:39 pmYes it certainly is. Many customers install the product on bunk trailers and roller trailers alike.

June 23, 2017 at 1:22 pmThis is an amazing product and takes the stress and work out of launching my 18′ Lund Alaskan tiller. Very easy to install on my Shore Lander trailer. A couple of things to watch for, after the installation check to see where the back rollers on the trailer are in reference to the transom. I had to move my winch ahead 3 inches to accommodate the new unit to get the transom on the roller correctly. Only one thing that I noticed was that I have to place my trailer on the water a little shallower when loading the boat so the boat was resting on the rollers, then it went into the catch on the new unit perfectly. Great unit so far.

August 11, 2017 at 8:47 pmI have had mine now for a while and it has made launching and retrieving a boat so much easier. once that chick sound is heard that boat is locked secure and will not go anywhere. the handle release makes a one person operation easy as well. well worth the price. I have showed it to quite a few people who seemed interested in how it works and I have seen more trailers with these units mounted on them. installation was easy as well. good product.

August 12, 2017 at 12:24 pmInstalled on my Crestliner 1800 Superhawk. Matched my galvanized trailer ((Shoreland’r) perfectly. Worked perfectly the first time which was the setup installation and the five times I’ve trailered it since. Saves me and my better half a lot of stress at the boat landing. Great invention

September 23, 2017 at 11:55 pmInstalled on my 2016 Tracker Pro Staff TXW… Was concerned because the bow eye is constructed of Aluminum and is welded to the boat. It’s a but thicker than the eyes seen on the videos… But good news… It’s works great! So happy with this product!

June 16, 2020 at 8:30 amRichard,
Thanks for the review of the catch and release. I’m ordering both today. I jumped from the boat to the dock and it was wet of course and I busted my butt and sprained my hand. Come home and started researching. Started reading post and read yours. Always want to be safe so I have ordered the Boat2Trailer and the easy step.
Safe Boating is the only practice. Can’t wait to receive them.
Thanks!
