Drotto Roller Trailer Install

Video of the boat latch roller trailer install.

In this Drotto Roller Trailer Install video we demonstrate how to install the boat latch on a roller trailer. The boat latch is designed to replace the bow roller of your roller trailer or bunk trailer. There are many different models and styles of bow roller setups. The Drotto boat latch is designed to replace your bow roller according to size. The 3″ model replaces your 3″ bow roller and the 3 3/4″ model is designed to replace a bow roller between 3 3/4″ and 4″ ( just add spacers or washers for larger rollers ). The Drotto Roller Trailer Install is very simple in most cases. See below for further details on the Drotto Roller Trailer Install process.

This is the BEST addition to my Ranger Trailer bar none! Given I am turning 76 this year, I don't have the energy I use to have and launching and loading my boat had gotten to be somewhat of a chore. I have a 20ft Ranger loaded to the "gills" which means it is a handful at the ramp. The Boat2Trailer Boat Latch has really been a time savor, as well as, spared me from expending a great deal of energy (best part of the equation). It only took me 45 minutes to Install the item. The video on YouTube was a big help.....

Works like a dream. As others have mentioned it pulled my Competitor 165 forward a couple of inches but I loosened the winch stand and slid it forward to compensate.

This a 5 star just on customer service alone. I placed my order late on Saturday afternoon and had a question afterwards. I sent email later that night and had a positive response back on Sunday morning!! WHO DOES THAT?!? I'm counting on the latch working just as well !

I fish with my 9 year old son 99% of the time so it is just me launching and loading. However, I had rotator cuff surgery on my dominant arm in March. Trying to reach over and hook up is extremely painful for me and trying to do it standing to the trailer is impossible with my range of motion. I showed this to my wife and she ordered it for Father's Day.

I took the boat out yesterday and installed it. I have a Phoenix Bass Boat with a 4" roller so we had to go with the 3 3/4" version and I added washers to each side so it was centered. The install went smooth and took about 10 minutes. Just as side note if you have a 4" roller you will likely need to used the same bolt that is currently on your trailer's roller. I caught this before the install so it was not a big deal. I got the master lock so the bolt that came with it would not work for sure.

Yesterday was a windy day once we got back from fishing we had some water skiers and strong wind making for challenging loading conditions and this think worked like a champ. It will cut minutes off of launching and loading you boat.

I absolutely love this device. I have had both knees replaced and it was very hard for me to go fishing by myself but this device has given me the freedom I was looking for. I have friends that are talking about getting this device. Thank you Boat2Trailer Drotto Boat Latch.

Only thing that could make it easier to loadout would be a chauffeur! Makes loading out easy peasy.

The latch works as advertised. Would have given it five stars but it set my boat back about 4 inches on the trailer (Lund boat & shorelander trailer). I will have to figure out a bracket for rear tie downs. I have a swing away hitch so can not move my front post foreward. Perhaps Drotto could figure that out & and market them.
