Bow Roller

Bow Roller

Bow rollers are extremely common on boat trailers. They are usually a bell shape or a rubber V. They are typically made of thermal plasticized rubber (TPR) or essentially rubber. Bow rollers are installed on the front bracket of the winch stand of the trailer. The roller enables the boat to secure against the trailer. The problem with bow rollers is they do not last very long, sometimes mark up the boat and they only serve one purpose. The purpose is to give the boat something to rest against. Many boat owners replace the bow roller every year or two. With a price tag anywhere from $12 to $50, that can add up over the years. So other than buying another bow roller every year what is another option?

Bow Roller Replacement

Bow Roller Replacement on Boat2Trailer

Basically the idea is simple. Replace your existing bow roller with the automatic boat latch on Boat2Trailer. Why is it called an automatic boat latch? Look in the photo above. The latch has a set of jaws or a clamp that will automatically snap shut and lock onto the existing bow eye of a boat. If you are interested in knowing more about how it works CLICK HERE. The bow roller replacement is a no-brainer in many ways. It’s durability is unmatched compared to a bow roller. It is composed of an incredibly long lasting UHMW plastic. The plastic shield helps prevent wear and tear on your boat and the latch as well. If after 10 years you decide to replace the plastic shield, it is a quick replacement process and only takes a few screws. The latch is not a one size fits all, but pretty darn close. It only comes in 2 sizes. Essentially one replaces a smaller roller and one replaces a bigger roller. Here is a link to our page showing what and where to measure to know what size you would need to replace your bow roller Click Here. The automatic boat latch has so many benefits over a common roller it is hard to describe them all in one page. Works like a dream. As others have mentioned it pulled my Competitor 165 forward a couple of inches but I loosened the winch stand and slid it forward to compensate.

This a 5 star just on customer service alone. I placed my order late on Saturday afternoon and had a question afterwards. I sent email later that night and had a positive response back on Sunday morning!! WHO DOES THAT?!? I'm counting on the latch working just as well !

I fish with my 9 year old son 99% of the time so it is just me launching and loading. However, I had rotator cuff surgery on my dominant arm in March. Trying to reach over and hook up is extremely painful for me and trying to do it standing to the trailer is impossible with my range of motion. I showed this to my wife and she ordered it for Father's Day.

I took the boat out yesterday and installed it. I have a Phoenix Bass Boat with a 4" roller so we had to go with the 3 3/4" version and I added washers to each side so it was centered. The install went smooth and took about 10 minutes. Just as side note if you have a 4" roller you will likely need to used the same bolt that is currently on your trailer's roller. I caught this before the install so it was not a big deal. I got the master lock so the bolt that came with it would not work for sure.

Yesterday was a windy day once we got back from fishing we had some water skiers and strong wind making for challenging loading conditions and this think worked like a champ. It will cut minutes off of launching and loading you boat.

I absolutely love this device. I have had both knees replaced and it was very hard for me to go fishing by myself but this device has given me the freedom I was looking for. I have friends that are talking about getting this device. Thank you Boat2Trailer Drotto Boat Latch.

Only thing that could make it easier to loadout would be a chauffeur! Makes loading out easy peasy.

The latch works as advertised. Would have given it five stars but it set my boat back about 4 inches on the trailer (Lund boat & shorelander trailer). I will have to figure out a bracket for rear tie downs. I have a swing away hitch so can not move my front post foreward. Perhaps Drotto could figure that out & and market them.

With all of the tech on my boat, this is by far the most efficient, easiest installing and extraordinarily convenient feature on my boat or trailer. 1 bolt install, 3 if you install the handle and has made loading and unloading my boat a joy. Made loading a breeze just this weekend at a busy ramp, in rough water and wind. Buy it, I'd be shocked if you ever regret it.

Absolutely a great product and customer service. I added this for my 18' bow rider and trailer and it works great! Boat2Trailer delivered it on time (early actually) and provided great support when I had a question. Everyone should have this for their boat!

Took a little bit of work to get it installed the way I needed it because of the design of my Stratos trailer. But working great. I wish I had bought it a long time ago. Five stars for sure.
